According to the Kakadu National Park site , the name ‘Kakadu’ comes from an Aboriginal floodplain language called Gagudju which was one of the languages spoken in the north of the park at the beginning of the twentieth century.
On a primeval level I am “going fishing with my boy”. Jake, is a 13 year old true boy and he is excited out of his mind. Me on the other hand, ok ok I am excited out of my mind too.
We are going to be staying at the Gagudju Lodge in Cooinda for about 5 days after enjoying a few days in Darwin. With a bit of luck we will get to see a Seniors AFL game on Saturday for a bit of local entertainment. Mix that with local tourist stuff, a few beers, views across the harbour and time with the most important other male in my life and heck – it could just be a great time. What do you think?
