There are reports now that seem to confirm the imminent arrival of the new Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200 mm f/2.8G ED VR II.

If the reports are correct the NEW model should have the following specs:

• Stabilization system VR II
• Nano coating (read Nikon’s description of what this is here)
  
• New faster Auto Focus
• Weight 1540g (70 grams more than the current model)
• 209mm length (slightly shorter than the current model)
• Minimum Focus Distance: 1.4m (for the current model is 1.5m)
• 77mm filter (same as the current model)

Probably due in Australia sometime before Christmas….
